Day 2 Pastor Notes: We Must Have Courage During Times of Controversy

In Mark 10:32, Jesus knew what He was facing, the cross experience that would lead to His death. However, here we see Jesus walking in front of the crowd and the disciples moving toward Purpose. See Jesus knew why He was born and He kept that purpose in mind. The disciples were in awe of such courage and the crowd was in fear of the devastation ahead. Jesus had the courage to go through because He knew that in three days, He would rise with all power in His hands. We can see at least three qualities that made Jesus courageous. Jesus was a discerner of evil spirits. He saw straight through the traps of the Pharisees. Jesus was not afraid to confront them in their schemes. Lastly, Jesus demonstrated the character of God with respect to the culture and laws. Do you display courage during your pursuit of purpose when you are faced with controversy?
